Phil Gaetano accomplished all that one could during his high school career at Sheehan High School. Playing for his father, Joe Gaetano, Phil earned every award and accolade the SCC and CIAC had to offer, broke the school’s all time assist record, and went on to lead his team to a state championship in his senior season, the first of his father’s coaching career. The College of the Holy Cross landed their third commitment in the class of 2011 on Sunday, gaining a verbal pledge from Taylor Abt, a six-foot-eight power forward from Georgetown Prep in Bethesda, Maryland. Abt committed at the conclusion of his official visit to the Worcester campus. Worcester Academy’s rising senior center Patrick Ackerman ended his recruitment on Sunday, making a verbal commitment to Penn State head coach Ed DeChellis following an official visit to the school’s campus this weekend. New England Basketball has never been stronger….at least that certainly seems to be the case when looking at ESPN’s national rankings.
